Summer Camps in Savannah: A Parent’s Guide

Savannah has a lot of summer camps, spread across nature centers, art studios, sports clubs and school programs. Here’s the list I keep for families, with age ranges and what each one offers. I’ve also included my YouTube post, a quick eight-minute watch, that explores more options for your littles.

Junior Ranger Day Camps at Skidaway Island State Park

  • Age Group: 6-12 years
  • Offerings: Nature hikes, conservation projects, bird-watching, and interactive activities focusing on Georgia’s natural and cultural heritage

City of Savannah General and Specialty Camps

  • Age Group: Varies by camp
  • Offerings:
    • General Camps: Four different two-week sessions, including Camp Adventure, Out of this World, Into the Wild, and Fun in the Sun, hosted across nine centers
    • Specialty Camps: Camp 101, Sports Camp, STEAM Camp, Inclusion Fusion Grandparents Camp, and Mommy and Me Camp

Art Camps at Otis S. Johnson Cultural Arts Center

  • Age Group: Youth (rising 1st-6th graders), Teens (rising 7th-12th graders), and Adults
  • Offerings:
    • Week 5: Full-day youth performing and visual arts camps
    • Week 7: Half-day camps for teens and adults, including Old Hollywood-themed performing arts and jewelry/metalsmithing classes
  • Oatland Island Wildlife Center Summer Camps

    • Age Group: Not specified
  • Offerings: Interactive wildlife experiences, nature exploration, and educational activities
  • Savannah Country Day School Summer Programs

    • Age Group: Varies by program
    • Offerings:
      • Camp Moon River: Traditional camp activities
      • Athletic Camps: Sports-focused programs
      • Ecology Camp: Environmental education
      • Rise-Up Ready: Academic enrichment

    Gymnastics, Tumbling, and Ninjastics Camp at The JAM Urban Athletic Club

    • Age Group: 3-12 years
    • Offerings: Gymnastics, tumbling, and ninja-style obstacle courses

    Savannah United Soccer Camps

  • Offerings: Skill development, tactical training, and specialized goalkeeper and striker sessions
  • Georgia Tech CEISMC Savannah Summer Programs

    • Age Group: Not specified
    • Offerings: STEM/STEAM-focused programs with unique weekly themes and take-home components

    Savannah Children’s Theatre Summer Camps

    • Age Group: 4-18 years
    • Offerings: Creative Adventures for younger children and performing arts camps culminating in performances for older participants

    Most of these open registration in January, and the popular ones fill within days. Dates and offerings shift year to year, so check each organization’s site for the current season before you plan around it.
