Richmond Hill sits about 20 miles south of Savannah along the Ogeechee River, and it has the kind of history that shapes a place in ways you can still see. Henry Ford bought thousands of acres here in the 1930s, built homes, schools, and infrastructure for his workers, and left behind a community with more substance than most coastal suburbs ever develop. The town was renamed Richmond Hill after his death in 1941 and has been growing steadily ever since.
Today it's one of the more sought-after addresses in the Savannah area — close enough to the city to commute easily, far enough to have space, water access, and a school system that consistently ranks among the best in the region. The neighborhoods range from established waterfront communities along the Ogeechee and Tivoli Rivers to newer master-planned subdivisions built around lagoons and marsh views.
