ABOUT FOREST LAKES
Forest Lakes is a gated master-planned community in the middle of Pooler, built around a lake and several lagoons. The water and the mature landscaping give it more open space than many of the newer subdivisions nearby.
It sits within a few minutes of Pooler Parkway, so the shopping, dining, and entertainment are close, and the airport is about ten minutes out. Deer turn up around the neighborhood often enough that residents expect them.
Forest Lakes spans several sections at different sizes. The Retreat has townhomes, Amberly and Wyndham offer mid-sized homes with larger lots and mature trees, and The Estates sits on lakefront lots with custom builds.
Layouts run from lower-maintenance townhomes to large custom homes on the water. Lake and lagoon lots are common, and the older sections have landscaping that's had time to fill in.
The Homes
A grand clubhouse anchors the community, with a full kitchen, a fitness center, a beach-entry pool, and tennis courts. The lake and lagoons run through the neighborhood and give it a parklike feel.
The setting is green and shaded, with water views from a good share of the homes. It's central to Pooler without sitting on top of the commercial strip.
The Amenities & Character
Daily life here leans on the outdoors: the pool in summer, walks around the lake, and a quick run to Pooler Parkway for anything you need. With the airport ten minutes away, travel is simple.
It's one of Pooler's more established gated communities, so the trees, the landscaping, and the layout have all matured. That gives it a settled feel the newer developments don't have yet.
The Lifestyle
Forest Lakes is part of the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, with Pooler-area schools including Pooler Elementary, Godley Station K-8, and West Chatham Elementary and Middle. SCCPSS approved attendance boundary changes for Western Chatham County for the 2026-27 school year that affect several Pooler schools, including a planned shift of Pooler Elementary to an early learning center, so confirm the current zone by address before you commit.
