About west/southwest Savannah
West and southwest Savannah sit along the Highway 17 and I-95 corridor, where the city transitions into a more spacious, suburban landscape without losing easy access to everything Savannah offers. These neighborhoods tend to have more room, more privacy, and more value per square foot than comparable options closer to downtown — and they're genuinely convenient for anyone commuting to the airport, Pooler's employment corridor, or Gulfstream and the Hyundai Metaplant.
Most of these communities are within 15 to 20 minutes of historic downtown Savannah and within 10 minutes of the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. The tradeoff for the extra space and lower prices is a car-dependent lifestyle, which suits a lot of buyers just fine..
