Windsor Forest
ABOUT WINDSOR FOREST
Windsor Forest is an established residential neighborhood on Savannah's southside, set between the Vernon and Little Ogeechee Rivers as they bend toward the coast. It's been here a while, and it shows in the best way: big shade trees, roomy lots, and quiet streets that feel settled rather than brand new.
The streets are lined with live oaks, crepe myrtles, and azaleas, with magnolias out on the lawns and the occasional palm-lined walk. It has the look and feel of what the southside was built to be, an easy, green place to live away from downtown's traffic.
Brick ranch is the dominant style here, mixed with Minimal Traditional homes, brick cottages, and Cape Cods. Lots run roomier than you'll find in most Midtown neighborhoods, which gives the whole place a more open, airy feel.
Prices have stayed among the more accessible of the established southside neighborhoods, though the area has been appreciating along with the rest of the southside. You get real space and mature trees without an island or downtown price tag.
The Homes
Joseph Tribble Park anchors the neighborhood, with a fishing pond, a walking path, a playground, and a dog park. LaVida Country Club, a public nine-hole course you can play as eighteen, is right here in Windsor Forest and open to anyone for a round.
Beyond the neighborhood, the full Abercorn Street corridor puts groceries, shopping, and restaurants a few minutes away. It's an easy place to handle the everyday without much of a drive.
The Amenities & Character
Windsor Forest is settled, green, and residential, with quiet streets and a lot of mature shade. It moves at an easy pace.
Downtown Savannah is about fifteen minutes up the Truman Parkway, and Tybee's beaches are roughly twenty-five. You get southside space and southside prices with the city and the coast both within reach.
The Lifestyle
Windsor Forest is served by the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, with the feeder running Windsor Forest Elementary, Southwest Middle, and Windsor Forest High. The district adjusts attendance boundaries from time to time, so it's worth confirming the current zone for a specific address with the district.
